Auto attaching HUD

by on Oct.26, 2009, under FAQ

If you using the HUD with tables that are smaller than the ordinary size, some of the player HUD:s might not been seen on the screen. To get it visible click on the mini window that is created for each table and move it around until the player HUD is visible, and then move the specific HUD closer to the other HUD:s. When all the player HUD:s are visible move the game window and the HUD will reposition itself again relative to the game window. If some individual player HUD still is miss-aligned move it to the correct place.

Why Only Tiled Tables?

by on Sep.26, 2009, under FAQ

This software is cross platform and does not support native window management out of the box. To implement these options I need to do platform specific coding, eventually I’ll do that. My main goal has been to get this software out so I can get some feedback of what people think of it.

How To Use The Software

by on Sep.25, 2009, under FAQ, User Guide

How should I use this software?

Well every person has their own style of playing and usually this shows after a few hands. Often it just takes about 10-20 hands to pick up different personalities at the table. By looking at the colors you can see if a person is loose/tight/aggressive/passive and instead of focusing on exact numbers you want to get a general feeling of how a player might act. It’s a little bit like playing live, you don’t have the exact numbers for each player at the table but you can have a feeling/knowledge of how they usually play.

How to take advantage of this information?

This is my personal view on this!

If I’m involved in a hand I try to pick up deviations from the normal play a opponent does. If I do that I’m cautious, I usually fold at this point. On the other hand if a player just continues to play according to his colors, I’m not that worried.

As we all know we do not hit our hands that often, this is also something I’m looking for when playing. Depending on my position and my opponents playing style, I can bet at the pot whether I have something or not. For example if a player HUD says that he does not like to call on the flop and turn, I’ll try to use this and bet. If it is the other way around, I won’t bet because I know that he will call my bets anyway. When we do hit the same information is equally important, how can we extract more bets from our opponents.

One other thing to watch is your own playing style. Are you predictive or not? My observations on this point is that I always try to adjust my own play according to how my opponent plays, so do I have a playing style then? Well, if everybody at the table plays the same way, then I guess I’m predictive and have a style.

These personal thoughts might be obvious and simple, but keeping track of all opponents is nothing simple. If you play more than one table it’s even harder. This colorful knowledge for each street is powerful.
